Visa and Permit
International students who pursue their studies in Telkom University are required to obtain the necessary study and immigration permits in accordance with the regulations of the Government of Indonesia. These documents are mandatory to ensure that international students are legally permitted to study and reside in Indonesia throughout their academic period.
The International Office Team will assist throughout the entire process, from document preparation before arrival, immigration procedures upon arrival, to administrative reporting after arrival in Indonesia.

Follow these three stages to complete your study permit and immigration process.
Before entering Indonesia, international students are required to prepare and complete the following documents:
- Study Permit
A Study Permit is an official approval that allows international students to undertake academic activities at a higher education institution in Indonesia.
The Study Permit application will be submitted by Telkom University to the Directorate General of Higher Education, Science, and Technology. International students are required to submit all required documents to the International Office Team to support the application process.
- Visa
International students who will enroll in a degree program or a Joint/Double Degree Program at Telkom University are required to use the E30B Visa, which is a Higher Education Visa intended for international students pursuing undergraduate, postgraduate, or doctoral studies in Indonesia.
Upon arrival in Indonesia, international students must continue the immigration process by applying for:
- KITAS / Limited Stay Permit
KITAS is a limited stay permit that allows international students to legally reside in Indonesia during their study period.
After the E30B Visa is approved and the international student arrives in Indonesia, the visa will be processed into a KITAS / Limited Stay Permit in accordance with Indonesian immigration regulations. The E30B Visa is a Limited Stay Visa for higher education purposes and allows international students to reside in Indonesia for a certain (1-2 years) period during their study.
After obtaining the required immigration documents, international students must complete several administrative reporting requirements with the assistance of the International Office Team, including:
- STM / Police Report Certificate
International students may be required to report their presence to the local police office and obtain an STM, also known as a Police Report Certificate.
- STM / Police Report Certificate
International students may be required to obtain a Domicile Letter from the local authority as proof of their residential address in Indonesia.
- SKTT / Temporary Residential Certificate
International students may be required to obtain a Domicile Letter from the local authority as proof of their residential address in Indonesia.
- Reporting Change of Address
International students are required to report any change of residential address to the relevant authorities and the university.
- New Passport Registration
If an international student obtains a new passport during their stay in Indonesia, the new passport must be reported and registered with the relevant immigration office and university administration.
